Q: anyone tried new nvidia prop? (EDIT)
« on: 2013/01/12, 23:46:24 »
d-u brings new nvidia packages (304.64-4). As the last ones had to be fixed for older Geforce cards (GeForce 6xxx, thanks towo) I am reluctant to unhold the installed ones until I can read a "no prob" from some experienced user.

Thanks
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake

$nvidia-settings -g | grep "OpenGL renderer string:"
  OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTX 275/PCIe/SSE2

$nvidia-settings --version | grep "version" | awk '{print $3}'
304.64

$uname -r
3.6-9.towo-siduction-amd64

Works fine here. 3.6 Kernel because of virtualbox

nvidia says. 6xxx is supported, maybe i can try 6800gs later

Edit: @towo: ok, sorry

Smon, your post is senseless, since this driver has supported kernel 3.6.x since its release.

A quick kook in the added patch would say to me, the driver works with our kernel 3.7.x.

Yeah, sorry towo.
Now i tested it on my 6800gs machine:

$ nvidia-settings -g | grep "OpenGL renderer string:"
  OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 6800 GS/PCIe/SSE2
$ nvidia-settings --version | grep "version" | awk '{print $3}'
304.64
$ uname -r
3.7-2.towo-siduction-amd64

It works and Glxgears works fine

Thanks @ all

The current nvidia prop. driver works fine here with GeForce 6100 and 3.7-2.towo-siduction-i386.
