systemctl reboot no longer working
« on: 2020/04/20, 10:35:03 »

After yesterdays DU  systemctl reboot  no longer reboots machine just turns off display, afer hard reset just boots normally with no errors. I have looked at the systemd settings in the KDE settings but can't see any obvious reference to rebooting, any suggestions.
thanks

Bit of a mystery, I dist upgrade every day worked fine until yesterday, I have not made any changes to anything or changed any settings.

A bit of further checking and shutdown and reboot from the KDE menu don't work either. they run through the normal shutdown script and power off the screen and keyboard but do not shutdown the PC. A Google seems to point to a possible Grub issue and there was a Grub upgrade a few days ago maybe it is cpu related.

Does it work when you are root?
Recently I created a test-account, with that account a shutdown didn't work but I didn't followed it up.
Maybe there are some rights or a group membership necessary.

It looks like a kernel issue. Everything works as it should with 5.6.4 towo 1 , shutdown and reboot but doesn't work with 5.6.4 towo 2 or 5.6.5 towo 1
