[Solved] Problem with pcmanfm after 24-Aug d-u

More problems with my LXDE desktop after this morning's d-u. This time, I do have my panel and menus, but my wallpaper is not displayed and, if I right click on the desktop, I get the Openbox root-menu instead of the LXDE desktop menu.

coruja and I investigated some via irc. The problem is that when pcmanfm is executed, the following error occurs:

pcmanfm: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfm.so.3: undefined symbol: g_type_class_adjust_private_offset

No LXDE, pcmanfm, or libfm packages were installed, this morning. As usual, everything was working yesterday.  :wink:

Confirmed -- exactly the same here.

Six hours later, another d-u resolved the problem, Several packages relating to libfm and lxsession were included in the latest fixes.

The bug indeed was fixed in libfm 1.1.2.1-1~pre2. It happened because of the very needed gtk rollback.

I wonder why it's still the openbox desktop?  I saw an upgrade to distro-defaults come in today -- would that affect the LXDE config?


EDIT 29 AUG: Since d-u has not been possible for some days due to the perl transition, today I thought I would take a look at

apt-get -s upgrade just to see what was out there.  To my surprise, I saw new lxpanel, distro-defaults, Intel video driver, and other LXDE-related packages.  So I went ahead and let it upgrade, and to my surprise when I logged back in to slim, up came my LXDE desktop with the custom wallpapers just as I last saw it.  Perfect!

Note that "upgrade" is not a recommended apt-get option for siduction, and I have never done that before and I don't expect to ever do it again. But this one time, it worked great to solve my issue.
