Title: [solved] DU from today Kernel 4.10.0 lightdm.service not starting.
Post by: CCarpenter on 2017/02/26, 02:21:09: lightdm.service is not starting in 4.10.0 with nvidia proprietary driver, on CPU~Quad core AMD FX-9590 Eight-Core (-HT-MCP-) speed/max~1400/4700 MHz Kernel~4.9.0-towo.2-siduction-amd64 x86_64 Up~5 min Mem~2024.4/16007.3MB HDD~1258.5GB(39.7% used) Procs~256 Client~Shell inxi~2.3.5
there is no problem.

Im alten Kernel läuft alles einwandfrei.

dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-4.10.0-towo.3-siduction-amd64löste das Problem.
Scheinbar wurde das nvidia-Kernelmodul nicht sauber gebaut beim DU.
Danke alfgaida für den Tipp!

Post by: melmarker on 2017/02/26, 16:52:08: Fein, dass es geklappt hat - ich wollt mich nur nicht zu weit aus dem Fenster lehnen, weil ich hatte den Testfall durch explizite Installation des Treibers auf meiner Schüssel versaut.
