Digikam5
« on: 2016/01/01, 15:26:18 »
I was a long time user of Digikam but had to give it up a few years back as I wanted a lighter desktop. I always missed it but the KDE dependencies are/were a real pain. I was just reading the release notes for Digikam 5 and it seems the devs have been listening and they have taken the opportunity while moving to Qt5 to significantly reduce the KDE dependencies. On their blog there is a link to a PPA for the beta version but It  looks like sid has some dependencies missing.

libkf5akonadicontacts5  and libkf5contacts5   I don't really keep up to date with the KDE transition but it looks like these are from the kde pim. I have looked but can't find anything useful about when this might hit sid. Does anyone have any information about when these libs may reach sid.

thanks

If you enable Debian experimental there is
not libkf5akonadicontacts5
but libkf5akonadicontact5
and there is
ibkf5contacts5
---
I would consider Debian experimental has a bug
of naming the package libkf5akonadicontacts5
loosing the 's'
which the other package and Ubuntu ppa has.
experiencing siduction runs better than my gentoo makes me know I know nothing

Thanks, it may be me that added the "s" I can't read my own writing !! . I have just recently changed my Debian repro and had not enabled experimental.
