Title: [resolved] Install advice for base/minimal install.
Post by: dlalias2k1 on 2012/07/27, 09:46:04
So I love this distro and LXDE. But I basically have a need for a console only install.

Basically I plan on just being able to create a minimal install so I can quickly setup development environments inside of a VirtualMachine using Siduction as the distro.

So it seems like Migrating from Debian-stable minimal install is frowned upon. Is there a hidden option for Desktop Environment removal in the installer? Or do I just need to install normally, then purge LXDE and X11 and just keep a snapshot of that around?

I really feel like I've found an awesome home in this distro. Thanks again!

As of today we do not offer a flavour without X or DE. This is planned for the next release, which is still some time away. If you are savy enough, you can look at our buildsystem (http://git.siduction.org/?p=code/pyfll.git;a=tree) and build the nox-flavour from there or create your own. The buildsystem is not documented.

Other than that removing the DE and X is your only choice right now.
