Hello Ferdinand, hello dibl,
in case of this post it seems, that turborat wants to troll.
But appart from that one point is true: Some wireless cards are not supported out of the box. And yes, it has to to with debian's way to handle all software stuff, which isn't free.
On my TP R500 this means:
- finding out the right frimware package on my desktop PC
- put this on my USB stick
- starting siduction live media
- installing firmware deb from USB stick on live system
- rmmod wlan driver && modprobe wlandriver
- then my wlan card is active
- then starting installation process of siduction
On my TP R500 with OpenSUSE it means:
- booting from installation media, the integrated firmware activates my Wlan card
- starting installation
I have no problem with szenario one but can understand, when peolpe prefer after such experience distributions with all firmware stuff integrated.
Kind regards,
Holger
