[EN] Tagging photos

What do you find the easiest way to tag photos. Lets say you want to batch-tag a bunch of pictures or a directory at once with the same tag(s)... Oh, and btw, didn't dolphin have a sidebar showing photo-info incl. tags? It still works to put tags:/ in the address line, but I see no sidebar that I could activate. Guess I am missing some plugin.

My photos are organized in an old-fashioned hierarchy of directories with dates for names.  However, wikipedia says that photo tagging in dolphin is a nepomuk function, supported by the Raptor parser plugin and the Redland storage plugin.  So perhaps those are your missing plugins.

Things are changing, Nepomuk will be gone with 4.14 mostly, switching over to baloo, which does not use RDF anymore. So Redland then is out of the picture also. I will just wait and see what comes up next.

Found the solution to the missing way of tagging in dolphin. You need libbaloowidgets4 installed, which did not get pulled in until now. Santa fixed that and now you can set tags again in dolphin.
