[solved] Amarok error after d-u
« on: 2015/07/25, 11:25:41 »
Hello,

I did an d-u this morning and now Amarok starts with an error message

GREPME MySQLe query failed! (200) on init

It looks a problem with the embedded database?!?!

Can anybody verify this? How can I fix this? Switching to external database?

FYI Devil, I am also crashing, but with another error. I don't mean to jump in the middle of orinoco's problem, I just post it as info. Amarok worked fine prior to the du.

Code: [Select]
lb@p690:~$ amarok -d
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.

amarok:     BEGIN: void EngineController::initializePhonon()
unnamed app(28944): Communication problem with  "amarok" , it probably crashed.
Error message was:  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)" "

New version - didn't cure my problem, but it might fix the problem orinoco had.

Code: [Select]
apt-cache policy show amarok
amarok:
  Installed: 2.8.0-2.1+b2
  Candidate: 2.8.0-3

It should fix orinoco's problem, tested here, works fine

On an atom netbook  running debian testing with a newly installed amarok  2.8.0-2.1+b1 (SparkyLinux4.0 KDE) gave the standard KDE bug # 323802 warning of  "GREPME MySQLe query failed! (2000) on init" which might have been due to amarok never being used before.  I did import some music and got amarok to play music (first tries were quite garbled) successfully.

However after a shut down and restart - the same GREPME ... message came up in amarok and amarok-dbg.  Music will play in amarok  --debug.

apt-cache tells me my sources are coming from debian testing.

Debian bug# 793451 concludes with the belief that  2.8.0-3 should fix things

Your testing version of amarok is older than what is in sid

Code: [Select]
apt-cache policy amarok
amarok:
  Installed: 2.8.0-3
  Candidate: 2.8.0-3
  Version table:
 *** 2.8.0-3 0
        500 http://httpredir.debian.org/debian/ unstable/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Testing would not be a wise choice to run in debian right now, especially with kf5

Atom netbook in testing probably not a wise choice.  But it's my 3rd machine.  And the transition to kf5 although furious has been quiet, only one apt-mark so far.  And I can wait for DB#793451 to clear to testing.  I'm not complaining, I am having fun.

Just run a d-u and I can confirm that amarok works fine again for me. All playlists are back. Puh...

Thanks for feedback and tips.
