Full-upgrade runs without removals on an Intel GPU system.  But there must be more than nvidia packages affected -- ffmpeg, libav-xx, and vlc also appear to be affected.

Are you using deb-multimedia?
Wenn Windows die Lösung ist...
kann ich dann bitte das Problem zurück haben?

@geier, no.

The only unusual repo I have on the system with the removals is the skype-stable repo at repo.skype.com.

EDIT: Since it seemed like my problem was not experienced by anyone else, I decided to let the full-upgrade go through and then try to fix the damage. The nvdia-related packages that include "-glvnd-" were part of the problem -- apparently they are not required and conflict with a lot of qt5-based packages. Nvidia driver 375.82-4 is reinstalled and working correctly, as is ffmpeg, vlc, and phonon-backend-vlc.  I don't need cheese any more. So, sorry for the noise!

@dibl

Please don't apologise for the noise...........

thanks to your edit referring to  "-glvnd-"  I have managed to sort out my own dist-upgrade problems wanting to delete various mixes of installed programmes.

thanks for the hint

I have used deb-multimedia off and on over the years, and it is a suspect whenever there are removals of multimedia-related packages like vlc. I don't have any work going on today that needs anything more current than what debian unstable has.

Code: [Select]
535 upgraded, 15 newly installed, 115 to remove and 6 not upgraded.
Need to get 744 MB/989 MB of archives.
After this operation, 1,749 MB of additional disk space will be used.
Since three days now, just about all of Gnome and nvidia plus some other stuff.

Have a nice weekend,
Stephan

@OppaErich, 535 is so many -- I am afraid maybe you might have waited too long to upgrade that system.  You might try to remove all Nvidia packages that contain the "-glvnd-" and then try again with full-upgrade and see if it is different.  Also the ffmpeg and vlc packages should reinstall after your full upgrade, but no guarantee.
