Hi,
ich habe 2 Grafikkarten im Laptop:
Card-1: Intel Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller
bus-ID: 00:02.0
Card-2: NVIDIA GM108M [GeForce 840M] bus-ID: 0a:00.0
allerdings wird nur eine "gesehen"
lspci | grep -i vga

Wenn ich den nvidia-Treiber installiere und reboote startet X nicht

welche NVIDIA Pakete hast du installiert? Sind Fehler in der Xorg.0.log zu sehen?

Es sieht so aus als würde die Karte nicht gefunden??
Und wie kann ich, wenn ich Code eingeben will, den Tag beenden?

@manilg: Bitte den Output von dpkg -l | grep -i nvidia und inxi -G.

Wie ich das hier lese, wird die nvidia nicht verwendet, weil sie im Bios nicht ausgewählt ist. :P

Das ist ein Optimus System!
Da kann man nicht einfach die Nvidia-Treiber installieren.
lspci | egrep -i "3D|vga|video"
sollte beide Devices auflisten.

Ganz ehrlich? Das Ding zurückgeben.
Du kannst DIch auch über Bumblebee informieren, aber das ist mehr eine Krücke als eine Lösung.

Die Krücke krückt eigentlich ganz gut, nur rutscht man gern zwischendurch mal aus. Ist mir vor kurzem auch wieder mal passiert. Im aktuellen Stadium ist es nur eine Krücke.

Ich habe die aktuellen Treiber aus experimental installiert. Weiterhin brauchst du noch bumblebee und primusrun und primusrun-libs. Falls du 32bit Programme nutzen willst brauchst du noch primusrun-libs:i386
Für Spiele sind dann noch ein Schwung 32bit libs für 3D nötig. So kann ich auch Skyrim spielen. Leider muss mir seit der gcc5 Transition eine lib fehlen, denn bestimmte Texturen werden nicht mehr korrekt dargestellt.
