Title: (solved) Suspend no longer works on Dell XPS13
Post by: drooghead on 2017/05/09, 11:28:03
Hello all,
Sometime between yesterday and today suspend stopped working. When I shut the lid the computer immediately powers off. Not even a controlled shutdown. Suspend from the menu or the login screen also turns off the computer. It's not the new kernel because I tried the old ones and had the same problem. Something else in a recent upgrade broke this functionality.
Can anyone shed light on what the problem is?

Do you have a swap partitition, and is it being mounted at boot? Look at the output of
Code: [Select]
mount and try
Code: [Select]
swapon and
Code: [Select]
swapoff to see if it functioning correctly.

Thanks dibl,
Yes I have 12GB swap partition.
This is strange, I just did another apt upgrade and suspend is working again as it's
supposed to.
I suppose we can mark this as solved unless someone else has the same problem.
Thanks for your help. I hope I didn't waste too much of your time.
