Title: Not a Problem: VirtualBox Guest Additions after a DU
Post by: steve on 2012/01/14, 02:44:38
This is not a problem but I just wanted to get the reason.

I have VirtualBox 4.1.8 from Oracle.

In a nutshell,

1. In Debian Test, after a apt-get upgrade, where a new kernel is installed, the VirtualBox guest additions get apparently re-installed without an action by me, because I get the expected full screen display.

2. In Siduction, after a dist-upgrade and kernel upgrade, the guest does not display full screen. Once I run the VBoxLinuxAdditions.run script, the guest displays full screen. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM FOR ME!!

I was just curious about the reason why the two distros work differently. Again, just needing a quick "edu-ma-cation"...

Thanks
Steve.

Maybe your Debian is using dkms and the siduction not?
