Dear siduction devolepment,
Who knows the Cinnamon desktop? It's
based on Gnome 3 and Mutte. But it looks like the beloved old gnome 2. Please read more about it at
http://cinnamon.linuxmint.com/?p=1
http://cinnamon.linuxmint.com/
It's just an idea more than a suggestion.
Cheers.

The Mint wants to deliver cinnamon also to their LMDE. If cinnamon is almost all just of some sort of extra scripting like other gnome3-shell-extensions, this should be directly installable into any Debian sid, but only:
if at the time of your action Debian testing is not far from Debian sid, especially gnome3 related packages, because Linux Mint Debian Edition is Debian testing based.

True that, but some people have successfully got LMDE tracking sid with good results

Excuse moi english, "tracking" means:
People installed LMDE and upgrade via Debian sid repos?
That should be possible until Debian testing (LMDE) got stalled before the next big Debian (release) freeze, then a little big bang when trying to upgrade Mint specials ...
PS: openSUSE already has a maintainer for cinnamon. Probably there will be a Debian maintainer also ...

Yes there are people who install LMDE then point the Debian repos to Sid then dist-upgrade to Sid.
