Hallo, ich habe vor ein paar Tagen mit dem Siduction-21.1.0-cblues-xfce-amd64-202102141958.iso auf einem neuem Mainboard mit M.2 SSD dieses installiert.
Nach Siduction Empfehlung: gpt
1. Partition unformatiert 8MB, Makierung bios_boot
2. Partition ext4 für Situction
Installation hat geklappt, Mainbord erkennt Betriebssystem ohne efi und startet im CSM (Kompatibilitäts-Modus), soweit alles gut.
Gestern Updates gestartet u.A. grub-UpdateFolgende Meldung:

Dann kommt das Bild mit der Frage für welche Geräte grub-install automatisch ausgeführt werden soll.Ich habe die automatische Auswahl ohne Anklicken eines Feldes
/dev/sda [ ]/dev/sda2 [ ]gewälht.
Nachdem Neustart dann die grub Fehlermeldung verify_string not fond
Die Frage: Was habe ich alles falsch gemacht?
Hardware:Mainbord mit x570 ChipsatzCPU: Ryzen 5er Serie

^Den Fehler hast du schon einmal im Forum b e s c h r i e b e n. Auch hier hattest du es tunlichst vermieden, eine Ausgabe des Terminal zu deiner INstallation zu liefern. :)
Selbstverständlich(!) muß Grub gesagt bekommen, wohin er installiert werden soll, wenn auf deinem System siduction nicht das einzigste OS ist.
Starte also die siduction-live-iso erneut und chroote in das System und installiere grub neu. Einen anderen Weg wird er nicht akzeptieren.

@unklareralso ich hab mir mal alle meine posts von mir angeschaut jedoch hab ich zum grub Problem noch nichts gepostet. ;) aber egal.
Hier mal mein aktueller Versuch auf eine SSD (auf der vorher Ubuntu war) zu installieren.Folgende Fehlermeldung:

I don't speak german so I don't understand how to fix it but I am facing the same issue.

There are at least 3 users in german debianforum.de with the same 'verify_string' error, so something seems to ne strange with current grub (for some, but not all users) :

Solution seems to be to chroot into the system from a live medium and reinstall grub, or first try if 'dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc' is sufficient (from within chroot)

Well, if you had forgotten to tell grub where to install after one of the last full-upgrades/dist-upgrades you have to chroot and install grub into the mbr or what ever partition.

It is possible to do it without chroot? as I can get access to the system with super grub disk.

^Yes. You can ALWAYS use the system in question with this
super_grub_disk boot. ;D

I get access with that but I am not able to reinstall grub so I was asking for a solution without chroot as I don't need it.

If you can boot into your system using the SuperGrubDisk you can install grub by executing
grub-install /dev/sdX
command. Where sdX is the drive your OS is on.

The correct way to fix this problem with GRUB is in the chroot:
dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc
because this fixes "the misuse of debconf as a registry" (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=984426#63).

Der richtige Weg, um dieses Problem mit GRUB zu beheben ist im chroot:
dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc
weil damit "der Mißbrauch der debconf als Registry" behoben wird (so, wie ich das verstehe :D ).

das Problem hab ich durch den Hinweis von towo auf dosfstools gelöst.

Die Versuche mit chroot Grub wieder herzustellen sind auf Grund eigener Fehler (Falscheingaben) gescheitert, aber inzwischen hab ich es gelernt.
Da ich praktische Anweisungen mag, hier mal die Vorgehensweise für die aktuelle Installation mit siduction-21.1.0-cblues-xfce-amd64-202102141958.iso
Zuerst mit dem siduction-21.1.0-cblues-nox-amd64-202102141954 und gdisk Partitionen erstellen,
1. Partition 300M, ef02 BIOS boot partition
2. Partition 200G, 8300 Daten partition
Dann mit dem (in meinem Fall xfce-Siduction-Installation-Stick) Insallation duchgeführt, Neustart.
Vor einem Update! -Erst das Paket dosfstools auf Halten setzen, also bleibt 4.2-1.1~really!
Dann erst das Update durchführen.
Es erscheint zum Schluss des Udate-Durchlaufs das Auswahlfenster "grub install devices"
Dort die beiden Felder so
makieren!
Rechner Ausschalten (nicht rur rebooten) und neu starten.
Dann sollte alles gut sein
Dieses Prozedur ist wohl nötig bis dosfstools korrigiert ist.

Seems that this worked, I tried those commands in the preovious days with no luck. Maybe this time I was more lucky...
