So my laptop that I have siduction on I hadn't been using due to it having the newer Alps touchpad that isn't recognized by synaptics. Found the patched driver that allows synaptics to recognize and control that so I was able to disable tapping, and so I'm using it again.
The laptop also has Optimus technology (both Intel and Nvidia graphics cards). Thus far, I've simply disabled Optimus and am running with the Nvidia graphics only. However I've been reading about bumblebee and it seems pretty cool. My question is if there's anyone using it, and if it works. I don't need MASSIVELY huge 3d acceleration, but I do need enough so that my translucency and such work on the desktop, and I can enable cover switch for alt-tab.
So if you are using it, was it a PITA to get set up, and does it at least work well enough so that 3d effects function?
