[EN] vsftpd and seccomp bug
« on: 2012/11/05, 14:42:21 »
Hello,

this morning I was going to lazy upload some files to my workstation through anonymous ftp (with vsftpd running on it) and when issuing

Code: [Select]

put <file>

I got the following error:

Code: [Select]

500: priv_sock_get_cmd

I save you all the searches and the stress, the bug was present in vsftpd version 3.0.0 and related to running it on kernels above 3.5.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=845980

The point is that, THIS MORNING, I was running vsftpd 3.0.2 from sid and kernel 3.6-5.... so what? In oder to get the whole stuff working I still had to use the workaround described in the former link.

Can you reproduce the problem?
