[EN] Iceweasel and language switching problems
« on: 2014/03/27, 04:05:54 »
Anyone have any idea why Iceweasel keeps reverting my spellchecker.dictionary from en_US to de.DE?  Except for about:config, I can't find any other config file/setting that would be causing the switch.  Any ideas?

Edit:  This seems to be common problem reported on mozilla , but, I'd still like to try to figure out what the cause is.  TIA.

Thanks absolute, in addons-->languages German was still enabled.  I was looking in preferences-->contact-->languages, which just showed English.  There are 6 languages installed, I guess by default, but, only German was enabled, which, I thought I had disabled earlier.  Let's see if disabling German helps.

Thanks again.

Removing unneeded myspell dictionaries fixed it for me - http://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=3006.0
I recently changed to Iceweasel 30 and en-AU dictionary add-on is not available so I just use en-GB now.

Well, it seems removing the German and British myspell dictionaries fixed my spellcheck on the forum.  Unfortunately, a right click doesn't bring me to a menu, where I can choose the correct spelling, or, add a new word to the dictionary, but, I'll accept the underline for now.

Thanks for the info sunrat, that was very helpful.

Same issue here. I get the underline for a misspelled word, but right click on it just brings up the standard page context menu. I'm pretty sure it works correctly on other forums.
