I let the libwebkitgtk-xxx stuff go, rebooted to the new kernel, and I don't see any ill effect.

In a terminal as user, type

Code: [Select]
zenity --question "are you sure"

Free speech isn't just fucking saying what you want to say, it's also hearing what you don't want to fucking hear

I either give too many fucks or no fucks at all, it's like I cannot find a middle ground for a moderate fuck distribution, it's like what the fuck

Hello GoinEasy9, dibl & piper

I'm using apt-cudf with the aspcud algorithm to automatically find a solution without removals.

It's one of theese cases when i think: "Debian is great!"

greetings
musca

[edit: I admit this is a simple case. "apt upgrade" and "apt-get upgrade --with-new-pkgs" will find the same solution. But still aspcud is able to find solutions, when some packages need to be removed while others have to be kept back. One could call it the SWAT of the apt solvers.]

Wow, wasn't that interesting. Thanks musca.  I'd love to know how it did that.  Or what it did.  I completed the du and everything seems to be working fine.  I wonder how many more apt tools there are that I haven't heard of.

The one other interesting thing was that I just got a notification that the library it held back, libcairo2, is waiting to be updated.

Edit: Doing a regular dist-upgrade to update libcairo, once again shows the 4 applications that were originally "To Be Removed".  It also seems that zenity is the problem, waiting for a dependency update, so, I will wait and see if its resolved.  I will also continue to be amazed. Debian definately has its advantages.

Edit2: I just saw musca's edit. That answered some questions, thanks.

An updated version of webkitgtk (2.4.5-2) fixes the issue and allows cairo to be updated.
