Setuid-Probleme auf Debian-Abkömmlingen (vmware)
« on: 2013/08/23, 21:07:34 »
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Setuid-Probleme-auf-Debian-Abkoemmlingen-1941698.html

is a warning in a german computer periodical (H-online, it's english counterpart is down) stating vmware's vmware-mount is giving access to a root-shell to unprivileged users (they have to adapt the PATH variable). As Debian did disable an additional security feature in bash its users are exposed to this bug.

A security update is on its way (vmware).
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake
