[EN] -dix :couldn't enable service 6 - 13
« on: 2018/04/10, 20:42:59 »
Updated my Siduction LXQT Patience system the day before yesterday. Since then I am not able to use it. When I boot the system waits when I enter my login name and password and waits and waits ...

So I tried to login as root : same problem. But then <CTRL-ALT-F1> and entered my user login name and password. Got a command line. Then I tried "startx" and went back with <CTRL-ALT-F7> to my root boot screen ; no change : still waiting. When getting back with <CTRL-ALT-F1> to the command line where I  started X I found : ":dix :couldn't enable service 8" ":dix :couldn't enable service 9" and so on all the services between 6 and 13.

Any help please?
Didn't find any warning regarding this problem on your forum. And 'dix' seems also unknown on the internet.

Thank you for kind attention.

use a live cd and check the apt history logs of your system whether something important has been removed.

if so, you could try to chroot into your patience install and repair it.

Used a siduction Patience LiveCd. Didn't find a 'apt*log'-file on the HD. The '/var/cache/apt/archives'-dir looked as usual.

As far as I remember the updating was also as usual ...

Any other hint?
