Hi siducers,
with the newest siduction install of siduction 13.2.0 December - kde - (201312310241) i am experiencing some very slow extraction of large packages like kernel-image or kernel-header, as well as packages for localisation.
The system is fully dist-upgraded and works just fine, but the all the apt-get installs seem to stall for no obvious reason due to dpkg.
There is no evidence in top memory- or cpu-wise.(I used top instead of htop to copy the line, the basic output is the same) PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
26090 root 20 0 109164 49456 38640 S 3,3 1,3 0:33.32 apt-get
26152 root 20 0 96924 54324 1272 D 0,0 1,4 0:03.15 dpkg
dpkg does use almost none resources, while apt-get is using cpu% between 2.0 and 7.0 changing.
Here is a typical output with time command attached, dpkg killed from another shellroot@majestix:/home/micha# time apt-get install -f

Since nobody else complained (or i did not find it) i am thinking it might be my hardware... It might not be damaged, but might lack modules or firmware, because even heavy stuff like Windows7 in virtualbox or internet browsing with a couple of tabs even in many different browsers at the same time works just fine. Also extracting files or folders from different formats in Ark runs just fine.
The system runs on a SSD, but is encrypted using LUKS. I also tested this behaviour before with other flavours of this release on two earlier installs on encrypted systems as well on unencrypted systems. Same misbehaviour of apt-get on all of them.$ inxi -v7
