Hello mylo,

well,  /dev/sndstat doesn't exist on my system and everything is doing fine.

which desktop do you use, which mixer do you use to control the volume?

And the obvious questions:
Is anything muted? pulled the jack out? switched of power of external boxes?

greetings
musca

Hi musca,

thanks for replying. I am really not sure, which desktop I use and I do not know how to find that out.
If lightdm is a desktop then I have it (kde, kdm not installed as per apt-cache policy) in 1.10.3-3.

If everything looks normal in my settings (alsamixer is set to 100% on all settings) it seems I have to doublecheck (i already checked) cable (power is on).

The setting appearing when calling alsamixer seems strange to me (see attach below).

some sport with the plug (in-out-in-out) did it at the end...thanks.
I should have detected this before asking here. Sorry and have some nice off days.
