hallo

ich hab seit ein paar tagen eine ati-grafikkarte mit einem vr710-chip. die lief auch ohne probleme beim installieren, genauer solange bis ich den treiber selbst nach handbuchanleitung kompilieren wollte.

das klappte natürlich nicht (dank 37er-kernel). seitdem hab ich die folgendes versucht:

installiere ich fglrx einfach über apt, läudft zwar mein x, aber nur mit niedriger auflösung und ohne compositing

installiere ich xserver-xorg-xy-radeon per apt bekomme ich statt x nur orangene streifen vertikal auf dem bildschirm

ich blicke im moment nicht ganz durch was ich falsch mache, bzw. wie ich diesen zustand beheben kann.

muss ich üebrhaupt einen der beiden installieren, oder reicht es linux-firmware-nonfree freigeschaltet zu haben?

vielleicht kann mich ja jemand vom schlauch schubsen.....

Damit radeon funktioniert, muß firmware-linux-nonfree installiert sein.
Was Du mit "oder reicht es linux-firmware-nonfree freigeschaltet zu haben" meinst, verschließt sich mir.
Ich gehe nicht zum Karneval, ich verleihe nur manchmal mein Gesicht.

Ich meinte schon dass Firmware nonfree installiert ist...freigeschaltet war etwas missverständlich ausgedrückt.

Also muss ich nur Firmware nonfree installieren und das wars dann? Sonst brauch ich keine extra Pakete?
das ist genau die Sache die ich nicht ganz versteh...

Ich hab' den fglrx nie installiert...wird der durch xorg.conf irgendwie vorgegeben ?

Hat der .37 irgendetwas was Du unbedingt brauchst ? Denn ich würde dann einfach den .36 weiter verwenden und warten.

hab alles runter und nur firmware-linux-nonfree installiert

ein benutzer mit aktivem compositing zeigt nur einen schwarzen bildschirm, und für alle benutzer komme ich über 1280x1024 nicht hinaus.

compositing und höhere auflösung haben aber schon mal funktioniert.....

liegt das event am 37er kernel?

Also, wie Du selbst sehen solltest, wird da Vesa verwendet!
vga=791 darfst Du auch gleich von der Grub-Konfig entsorgen.
Außerdem würde ich gerne mal ein

dpkg -l | grep xorg-video

sehen.
Ich gehe nicht zum Karneval, ich verleihe nur manchmal mein Gesicht.

nach sauberem deinstallieren von xserver-xorg-video-ati und sauberem deinstallieren von fglrx und installieren von xserver-xorg-video-ati läufts jetzt...

vielen dank für die hilfe

probleme bereitet im moment noch die hardwarebeschleunigung für die desktop-effekte
im moment geht nur der softwar-render, und der ist langsam

daran muss ich noch arbeiten...

jetzt muss ich leider noch mal fragen.....

der treiber funktioniert soweit, allerdings kann ich keine hardware-beschleiunigten desktop-effekte nutzen, da sich opengl nicht mehr aktivieren lässt. irgendwie komm ich da nicht weiter...
