Hey users, i have uploaded fglrx 15.3 beta to our extra/experimental repo.
For all who have cappable amd hardware, please test that driver.
If you want, you should do
add
deb http://packages.siduction.org/extra experimental main contrib non-free
to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/siduction.list
after apt update
do
apt -t experimental install fglrx-driver libgl1-fglrx-glx fglrx-modules-dkms
you need a /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-fglrx.conf with the following in:
Section "Device"
Identifier "My GPU"
Driver "fglrx"
EndSection
Also please give feedback about issues, you have maybe.

Hey towo,
I did a dist-upgrade and installed the driver this evening. No issues seen so far - runs smoothly.

Hi,
seem to work here too:

Dkms failes to build it for my custom kernel, while 14.12 succeeded there. I'm currently trying to find out what I'm missing in this kernel.
Thank you for your work!

That seems not right for me.

I think I got it. It was my own fault, related to an old symlink to libGL.so.1 I placed to resolve a problem I can't remember currently. I'm sorry...

Thanks a lot!
Your card is not supportet by that driver. Only fglrx-legacy does support it.
Btw, radeon does support that card fine.
-
I see, I also have that symlinked libGL.so.1. So I only upgraded half of the driver since I put that symlink?
Funny thing is this combination improved graphical performance a lot - Desktop FX and games, at least 0AD, feel like I upgraded my hardware :) Or is this more likely a change in the kernel or X?
I guess I stick to it for a while and switch to legacy if necessary.
I also try radeon from time to time which works well on 1 monitor but I always had heavy issues with my full 3 monitor setup ranging from weird colored pixels and lines to missing elements like buttons.

If anyone is curious: it works just fine with X.org 1.17

Everything's smooth with kernel 4.1-rc3 and the new fglrx.
