[EN] How to upgrade from 20.21.3 to 23.10?

I searched through the Debian forum to find a simple upgrade command from Siduction 20.21.3 to 23.10 also searched through this forum but could find a solution. There must be a simple command like apt "full-upgrade" or apt dist-upgrade. I look forward to your response. Thanks.

Am I right, you never done a full-upgrade since 2020, and now you want to full-upgrade to 2024?
Uh, that's will be a very rough ride.
First backup all your IMPORTANT data, all of them!
Then think about what you are trying to do. for sure it is possible but I think it will be less frustrating to reinstall it and replay the backup, but then you do not have the fun to find out what's going wrong, what is missing and so on..
Ok that's not an advice how to do it, I only want to know if I understand you right.
Also give us the output of inxi -F, to know what kind of system you have!

 I did a backup to a external drive and installed Kde 2023.10. Everything is running great!  :)

I wish the core team of Siduction a great Christmas and continued success with Siduction in 2024.

Ok. and did you run  apt update and then apt full-upgrade after the installation?
siduction is an rolling release, like debian sid, so it is important to full--upgrade the system as often as possible. once a week for example, do not wait to long with it.
Also before running an apt full-upgrade, take a look to our warning section, if unsure ask.

I did use Arch (rolling release) for a number of years however, I like Siduction since it is also a rolling release and based on Debian.
I will follow your suggestion of apt update with apt full-upgrade every week. I have been tweaking the install. The OS is working great. Thanks again.

Mh. well in the first headline, you can mark it as "How to" you already have done, or  set the word "[done]"  in front of the first headline. but I think in this case, there is no action required.
Maybe post your tweakings, if you want and a step by step advice how you done it.
