[solved with 4.0] Kernel 3.19 & Intel graphics
« on: 2015/02/13, 13:59:26 »
Hello,

after installing the lated kernel I found the attached message repeated many times. I saw a thread on lkml dealing with this topic. At the moment I can't see any resulting problem. I hope there will be a fix quite soon.

Try using xserver-xorg-video-intel from experiemntal.

No improvement, even with the latest kernel (3.19-0.towo.2-siduction-amd64).

Hello orinoco,

debian refused to step up to the latest driver from intel since almost two years, because it wasn't released as stable by intel. Two weeks ago towo has suggested to try the latest from experimental repo, but you only mentioned updating the kernel since.
apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel
xserver-xorg-video-intel:
  Installed: 2:2.21.15-2+b2
  Candidate: 2:2.21.15-2+b2
  Version table:
     2:2.99.917-1~exp1 0
          1 http://ftp2.de.debian.org/debian/ experimental/main amd64 Packages
 *** 2:2.21.15-2+b2 0
        500 http://http.debian.net/debian/ unstable/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Did you try version 2.99 from debian experimental?

greetings
musca

You're referring to intel DDX driver (xserver-xorg-video-intel), but the problem seems to be in the kernel module.

Until upstream intel devs fix it, I don't think there is much you can do except go back to a 3.18 kernel.

To close this issue: Kernel 4.0 solved it. No more syslog flooding.
