Hi,
I installed Xfce-december (i386) and was wondering about the program 'alevt' which is showing in the xfce-menu under multimedia. This programm isn't or has ever been installed, but still there's an alevt.desktop in /usr/share/applications
cat /usr/share/applications/alevt.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=alevt
Comment=Teletext Browser
Exec=alevt
Icon=alevt
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=GNOME;GTK;AudioVideo;Video;
Solution: I simply deleted the file and thus removed it from the menu.
Still: How come?
Btw: Should something like this better be posted on http://chili.siduction.org/projects/siduction/issues/ (http://chili.siduction.org/projects/siduction/issues/) ?

~/source/nvidia
towo:dev> apt-file find /usr/share/applications/alevt.desktop
dvb-apps: /usr/share/applications/alevt.desktop
From the manifest:
dvb-apps 1.1.1+rev1500-1

Okay, so it's dvb-apps which places the .desktop-file there. But why? alevt isn't even recommended or suggested by dvb-apps... So I take this file as superflous, therefore I will file a bug report against it in the Debian Bug Tracker. Thanks for the clearance!
Furthermore, I purged dvb-apps, just in case the file tried to return ;-)

Well, dvb-apps 'provides' alevt, so maybe it is reasonable to provide a .desktop-file, too. Hence, my post thread in nonsense. This also means I have too much spare time to worry about things I don't even understand. :P
