[solved] kdenext mixing up with debian
« on: 2013/11/16, 11:50:06 »
In debian KDE 4.11.3 arrived. For those you using the kdenext repo, please make sure you don't mixed some packages from debian and the kdenext repo.

Problems so far with kwin styles:

Also packages that mix up are:
marble, kwalletmanager, ksnapshot, kgpg, ...

There ins't any problem in having some packages from kdenext and others from debian debian sid, the packages in kdenext are designed to deal with the debian updates. There are some temporary problems because of the poorly managed trasition to KDE 4.11:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2013/11/msg00168.html
which are being worked on. So if you have problems with your dist-upgrade just wait a few hours.

Thank you Santa for clarification and of course a big thank for your work.

I'm sorry if I was too fast with my DU, but I wasn't facing any errors at proofing depencies, so I thougt, all will be going fine. Just a few minutes ago, I tried a DU again... and voilà all the most of my problems are solved. Only the annoying crash, if I will start the submenu Appearance of Desktop (? in german Erscheinungsbild der Arbeitsfläche) in System Settings, is still there.

Everything works fine now. Thank you!  8)

Regards
Dieter

Hi all,

I never activated kdenext, and the change from 4.10.5 to 4.11.3 was like a major transition, especially for the KDEPIM programs. I "lost" my notes in knotes and could not import them from by backups. Neither could I add a new item to my calendar or read the results of a search in my IMAP accounts immediately. But now everything is fine, just took some time for indexing or so ...  Using kmail you need a lot of patience.

Best regards,
