apt autocompletion
« on: 2016/01/14, 12:40:33 »
Hi all,

After inadvertently deleting half my system earlier today I just replaced and d-u'd to a fully updated kde plasma 5 desktop, with no apparent issues except:

When using apt as a replacement for apt-get, bash doesn't autocomplete, so I can't tab the install command  or package name. This still works fine with apt-get.

Can anyone tell me how to get this working?

I also noticed that and seeing apt being used in the process of migrating from KDEnext to Debian's KDE, I'm unsure if the apt is now considered the default way. A quick look at the manual still shows apt-get instructions...

Thanks for the reply.

Let's wait for the jury regarding whether apt is the new apt-get [devil] in http://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=5981.0
