Title: (solved) Please Help with Wallpaper settings for LXQT
Post by: bokoto on 2016/08/16, 18:07:41
Recently the piantitblack - lxqt wallpaper got updated and since then i can not make the wallpaper stick after a reboot  -  I tried everything re-naming the files, shifting images around - but still after a reboot I end up with the default wallpaper. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

check the file and directory rights in .config, esp .config/lxqt

Nothing unusual there - read and write permissions. I also tried un-installing the paintitblack wallpaper - it did not help - same outcome - stuck with default one on reboot. And one more weird thing - i deleted all images in the contents wallpaper folder, un-installed the wallpaper, but upon reboot my desktop still comes up with the paintitblack wallpaper?! - this is definitely wrong!

yes, you did something wrong, me too - I point you to the wrong directory, it is pcmanfm-qt/lxqt - the background is set in settings.conf. And if one change the Wallpaper settings pcmanfm-qt should have write access to this file.

Edit - ok, maybe the debian packages are wrong, but i don't think so, i know the packager. And maybe the siduction settings are plain worng, but i don't think so, because i also know the maintainer very well. So it might be an upstream bug - but i guess upstream is right, because i think i know the upstream guys also well. They would have noticed such bug.

Ok finally sorted after 2 hours of tinkering with it! So t he problem was that when i un-installed the paintitblack theme - the wallpaper that comes with it will always be displayed  after reboot - Solution was simple but it took me some time to find it :) - i installed plasma  theme - changed the wallpaper, rebooted - problem fixed
