Hi,
I was wondering why the Firestart Firewall is missing from the Siduction repos, and if there is anyway it could be added. It seems to be available in debian, but I cannot install it.

Why can't you install it? Please show the relevant output that apt gives you. About adding firestarter: We cannot add the whole plethora of apps available in debian. so please bare with us, if we include things that many users ask for. A gui for iptables is not one of them.

The package is just missing.
$ apt-get install firestarter
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package firestarter
As for adding this in. I completely understand that it takes work to add a package, but maybe you could add at least one graphical front-end for iptables? Pretty please?

As a workaround, is there any way to easily cherry pick a package that is available in Debian?

Firestarter is not in Testing or Unstable anymore, that's why you cannot install it. Reason is it is abandoned upstream (http://packages.qa.debian.org/f/firestarter/news/20130608T012654Z.html). You might want to choose one of these (https://wiki.debian.org/Firewalls).
