plasmashell memorey leak?
« on: 2018/04/01, 02:26:14 »
I' noticed that the plasmashell process steadily keeps increasing in memory usage in my laptop.  Loggin in/out, frees the memory, and then it starts back.

Has anyone seen this?  I tried removing widgets and using a static wallpaper, but still happens.  If we don't shutdown, after a couple of days it is unusable.  (Easily fixed, though.)

Here is some info on the system:

System:    Host: e7440 Kernel: 4.15.13-towo.1-siduction-amd64 x86_64 bits: 64 gcc: 7.3.0

For instance, now, after a few hours (5 or 6) htop shows plasmashell using 13.4% of the memory (8GB).  (Again, this number will continue to increase until we logout.)

BTW, I also see this in my desktop running aptosid.  (Also Intel video.)

4.6% of 4GB on a laptop with Intel graphics, 30 minutes uptime.  1.6% of 32GB on a desktop with Nvidia graphics, 3 days uptime.
