[DE] Loginmanager (sddm) startet nicht mehr

Hola Männer,

beim Booten habe ich keinen Login-Screen mehr. Muss immer per Konsole startx ausführen. Beim Aufruf von sddm bekomme ich folgende Ausgabe:

Welche Infos benötigt ihr? Welche Logs sind interessant?

Nvidia-GPU? Proprietären Treiber installiert und nouveau nicht geblacklistet? Und/oder eine störende xorg.conf herumliegen?

nope, nur ATI und Intel onboard.

War auch alles bis vor kurzem kein Thema, aber ich kann nicht mehr genau nachvollziehen, nach welchem Dist-Upgrade der Fehler kam. Erinnere mich aber dunkel, dass bei irgendeinem Update explizit im Prozess eine Meldung zum Login-Manager kam, nach dem Motto "willste die vorhandene Configfile behalten oder durch die neue ersetzen?" ...

Was darf in der xorg.conf denn nicht drinstehen? Was kann ich noch prüfen?

Hmm, ich hatte vor einiger Zeit ein ähnliche seltsames Problem im Zusammenspiel mit fish.
Viellecht ist es hier ähnlich.

Welche Logs kann ich euch denn präsentieren? Bin nach wie vor nicht ganz so fit wie die meisten hier im Forum und brauche ein bisschen mehr Händchen halten!

Muss ja nicht zwingend mit fish zusammenhängen, kann ja was ähnliches sein.
Das Verhalten war nur ziemlich identisch, startx ging aber sddm auf einmal nicht mehr.

ich kann nicht mehr genau nachvollziehen, nach welchem Dist-Upgrade der Fehler kam.

Bei einem solchen Problem wüßte ich das aber sehr genau, denn ich würde dem sofort nachgehen und das nicht schleifen lassen.

Hier soll jetzt allen Ernstes aufgeführt werden, was zu Problemen führen könnte? Also unzählige Möglichkeiten bis hin zu simplen Schreibfehlern? Am besten, es gibt gar kein xorg.conf (zumal das so ohnehin veraltet ist).

Wahrscheinlich hast Du auch keines (das brauchst Du ja nur mal checken). Bei nvidia hätte es durch Click auf den entsprechenden Button in nvidia-settings schon eher sein können.

Im übrigen kann man nach solchen Ausgaben suchen.

reboot, if that don't work

See if you can login again

Did you by chance edit anything like

Just asking, it's one of the first things I do on a fresh install

piper,  he uses xfce not kde/kf5/plasma,  so theme breeze will pull in all that kf5/plasma libraries.

schon mal die AMD/ATI Grafik via bios deaktiviert (ist das überhaupt möglich?) und stattdessen  es mit der Intel-Grafikkarte versucht, ohne dass da die Radeon reifunkt?
