[DE] Firefox und Iceweasel parallel betreiben

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe mir den orginalen Firefox-Browser (Beta) direkt von Mozilla auf meinem System installiert, sowie den regulären Iceweasel (31.4.0esr-1). Was ich jetzt noch gerne hätte, das beide Varianaten ihr eigenes Profilverzeichnis nutzen.

Firefox --> $HOME/.mozilla
Iceweasel --> $HOME/.iceweasel

Leider habe ich das mit dem Profilmanager nicht hinbekommen. Das Verzeichnis .mozilla wird scheinbar immer benutzt egal was man mit dem Profilmanager angibt. Gibt es da eine Lösung?

Hintergrund ist, das installierte Addon's wenn sie einmal mit originalen FF gestartet werden auf Kombatibilität geprüft werden und ggf. aktualisiert werden. Das hat dann aber zu Folge das genau diese Addon's im Iceweasel nicht mehr funktionieren.

startest, sollten sich die Beiden eigentlich nicht ins Gehege kommen.

To run iceweasel/firefox at the same time, one of them needs to be launched with a new profile and the multiple instance option.

You can add the following to iceweasel's/firefox's KDE menu launcher exec:

iceweasel -P iceweasel -no-remote %u

firefox -P firefox -no-remote %u


The "-no-remote" clears up the multiple instance/already running problem.
The "-P iceweasel" will cause a profile dialog to popup upon first launching iceweasel/firefox.
At that point choose the option to create a new profile.
To prevent this profile dialog box from appearing everytime you launch iceweasel/firefox you can check the box to not ask at startup.
