During a DU, some days ago, apparmor displayed a dpkg error.
Unpacking apparmor (5.0.2-5)...
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/apparmor_5.0.2-5_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/etc/apparmor.d/tunables/ntpd', which is also in package ntpsec (1.2.5+dfsg-1)
dpkg: executing new apparmor package postrm maintainer script for abort-install ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
I've tried reinstalling over the last week and get the same error.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks
You have two packages trying to create the same file. There are to choices,1- rename the file and let apt take care of it or 2- Force overwrite it.
As root or sudo
with dpkg
dpkg -i --force-overwrite packagenamewith apt
apt -o Dpkg::Options::="--force-overwrite" apt dist-upgrade
Thank You for your suggestions. I was able to get apparmor to install.
Have a good day.
