auf meinem DELL XPS L702x läuft aptosid von einer externen USB-Platte.
Leider ist die 3D-Unterstützung weg. Der Laptop hat eine Hybrid -Grafik:

Der Test liefert:

Ohne jegliche xorg.conf habe ich den VESA Treiber.
Warum funktioniert das nicht und warum hat der Intel-Treiber keine 3D-Unterstützung?

Mein Vorschlag: im BIOS Optimus abschalten (da Optimus von Linux (noch) nicht unterstützt wird) und die nvidia-Treiber (aus dem rep. oder prop.) installieren. Dann hast Du die 3D-Effekte zur Verfügung.

Kann in meinem BIOS keine Stelle passend zu 'Optimus' finden.

Hallo,
das finde ich seltsam, daß Dell bei den XPS L702x keine Option im BIOS eingebaut Optimus abzuschalten. Vielleicht machen sie es in einem neueren BIOS-Release. Ich habe einen Latitude E6520 (auch Sandy Bridge usw.). Bei dem befindet sich im BIOS als Unterpunkt der Sektion 'Video' die Option 'Optimus aktivieren'.
Was bleibt ist der Versuch die Nvidia-Karte unter Linux (s. http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/p/19370431/19844133.aspx und https://lists.launchpad.net/hybrid-graphics-linux/msg00663.html) abzuschalten und den Intel Grafikchip zu verwenden.
