Title: partition got formatted to ext4, can I recover data?
Post by: dpt on 2011/12/31, 14:44:48
While installing siduction, one partition got
formatted to ext4 (i guess it had asked for separate /home, has put the /home in root anyway).

Some data there is important, others I have backup.

Nothing shows up in lost & found.

Previous format was NTFS.

Anyway to recover data?

I had used something years back. Do not remember.
May some Dr hiren's CD.

It seems that the files exist in some other partition-

I had perhaps only renamed it in the partition now formatted. So nothing
seems to be lost.

I will try photorec anyway.

Have a nice day.
And Happy New Year, Everyone. Let us all leap forward in the incoming Leap Year.
