since some DUs (maybe since march 2012), easytag is not writing anymore the changed tags to my disk.
Could anybody confirm, if this is a bug?
I completly purged easytag an deleted the home/ user directory
/home/user/.easytag.
Then did a reinstall for being sure not to messed up settings, but still the problem occurs...
I had similar probs when using easytag. However I am not sure, whether it was a mistake by myself.
i tested it on my other copmputers. Same result... seems to be a bug
Anybody got some news...?
I installed siduction on a new computer for a friend. The same over there... its nearly 3 months, that writing changes into mp3/flac files doesn't work.
On the esaytag Site I cannot find any hint of a bug:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=5216&atid=105216
What could that be???
Tried to start easytag through a konsole? Any output?
No output. Program is starting like always.
I really searched all settings, and I am sure the mp3-files have enough rights, and of course I got this on 4 Computers.
I purged old installations, reeinstalled, and I did a fresh install on a new computer...
NOTHING
Is there any output in konsole when you try to edit and save a tag?
unfortunatly no!
If you choose a folder and make the necessary changes to the tags, easytag saves everything (by writing the tags) when you change into the next folder.
Now it is changing folders without any wirting!
That makes it hard to find the error :(
Since you are not the only one, maybe a bug report upstream is necessary (although it is strange, that there are no other reports on that problem on the internet ... maybe siduction related?)
Sorry for no solution ...
Regards
I send a bugreport with reportbug-ng. I hope it works...
meanwhile you could try puddletag. I like that one a lot and it's written in qt and is in debian.

Thanks for the tipp devil. It looks not bad.
But for big collections easytag is really good. but I will use it as long I need to.
I know this is an old thread but I've used Easytag recently, and true, it doesn't save automatically when you change directory like it used to. It does save properly if you click the Save button.
Anyway thanks devil for the suggestion about puddletag; I installed it and will try it out.
yepp... and there is no change in this behavior... I got used to save with ctrl-S... It works, but ist one more key for every folder...
