Title: Need help getting Oracle up and running
Post by: Quizmaster on 2012/09/18, 00:40:45
Greetings everyone, I have managed to install Oracle 11g for a cs class but cannot launch it with it getting after clicking start database in KMenu, I get the following error window pop-up: eddie_nygma must be in the DBA OS group to start the database. Can someone tell me if that is fixable, through some obscure configuration file I don't know about?

Well, good luck with finding help here with Oracle. If I was you, I would try to get help at Oracles support facilities because I doubt many will use that software here. But who knows.

And a tip at the side: pasting exact error messages is always more helpful than citing them.

Well, assign your user to the requested group (program kuser).
