Title: nice linux poster
Post by: 10toe on 2012/10/07, 19:35:56
Hello,

I want to share with you a link to a very cool linux poster which I found yesterday by accident:

http://www.pointlessart.com/education/loyalist/oreilly.html (http://www.pointlessart.com/education/loyalist/oreilly.html)

It's from 2001 but still a nice abstract.

Kind regards,
Hans

Linux was even easier in 1995 ;)

I cannot confirm that, I started using Linux in 2001, when it was usable enough for a guy like me.

Well, I could say unix was easy in 1992, but that would be a lie.

Well, it wasn't quite easy for a beginner in 1999. I remember that I have waited about 6 month for a new XFree86 to have support for my videocard.

Well I was lucky to have a Trident card which was supported even in 1995 so that was a bit easier then for me

Sadly iceweasel says that some plugin is needed to watch that page, but does not tell which plugin :-(

But for linux-related posters, here is another one: http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/linux-world-map.html

Hehe, that map reminds me of the realms-of-debian-story from the time of sidux... The sidux forums closed a long time ago but luckily some guy saved it (unfortuantely only in German):

Realms Of Debian was my first thinking, too. And not only did Aleks save the story, it is migrated from sidux to aptosid-wiki and to our siduction-wiki

http://wiki.siduction.de/index.php?title=Prolog_oder_Debians_Reiche
Both with german story but map in english.
