Title: siduction-razor-qt
Post by: Elpis on 2012/10/24, 22:01:38
Hello Siduction's community  !
First I would like to thank you for what you are doing here, since few weeks I am trying to get more and more information about siduction and it seems to me that the communiuty is cool and motivated , then I guess we can say that i am really 'siducted !! " :).
I really really like the initiative to make a release with the razor-qt environment , it shows that people here want  to do a lot !!! Great !

Here comes my issue, I updated my grub in order to boot the live iso , I followed the documentation and it is working for
the live iso desperado-reloaded and noX, but i can't get it working for razor-qt ... Is this a known issue ? or it comes from my side ??? Thanks a lot again for the beautiful thing you try to accomplish, This the true open-source spirit !!!!!!!!!!

Hello Elpis and welcome to siduction :-). Some issues with fromiso have been reported before, for example here:
http://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=2369
That post is mixed english/german, perhaps you could strip some useful information. For me it seems as such problems happen only to some users with some flavours, not really clear why. Pehaps you have to wait 'til more experienced users jump in here. To ease support, please post your edited grub2-fll-fromiso and the resulting grub.cfg

Hi der_bud !
Thank for the answer, I will try to read that, but my
understanding of the german is only limited to the word
"Danke". Anyway as far as I understood the razo-qt version of
siduction is still in development ... isn't it ?

As far as I know the first edition was a development one, next (coming soon) one will be part of the regular bunch of flavors the siduction team offers. On the other hand, razor-qt is still in development, it's 0.5.

As to the not bootable isos: This probleim seems not to be limited to razor-qt. I had this problem with different siduction flavors in different releases. It still is unclear what's triggering this problem.

Well, it is clearly related to fromiso "somehow" with "something else" involved. So any other method of booting will boot any siduction iso you pick.

Yes, that's right and covers the problem better than what I wrote above.

Ok !
Then is there any documentation describing the process
of building the live iso ? I mean I am willing to help, or at least try
to understand what is going on here ,
learn how to make an iso from scratch ...
Thanks !
