Title: Recommend Partitions/Sizes for new install
Post by: Cork on 2013/02/05, 18:39:08
I'm planning to install the KDE version of siduction on a clean 160 GB drive (HP Mini 311/Atom 270/3 GB RAM).  Thoughts on the number, mount points, and size of partitions are welcome.

Previously with Ubuntu derivatives I received recommendations for a relatively small root partition (10-12 GB), a swap partition equal to the size of my RAM (3 GB) to facilitate sleep/hibernation modes, and the rest allocated to /home.

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

That same scheme will work just fine for Siduction.

Thanks for the quick response, Tim.  I set those partitions and the installation is running!  :)
