Title: [Solved Résolu] dist-upgrare et kernel
Post by: dural on 2013/04/07, 13:00:14
Bonjour,
J'ai installé, il y a quelques jours siduction xfce.
J'avais le noyau 3.6-9.towo.
Puis sont venus les noyaux 3.8-4.towo, 3.8-5.towo et maintenant 3.8-6.towo
uname -a dit : Linux siductionbox 3.6-9.towo-siduction-686

Normal ?
Merci
------------------------------
Hello,
Forgive my poor english
I install some days ago siduction xfce to test it
It comes with kernel 3.6-9.towo
After several dist-upgrade, kernel 3.8-4.towo, 3.8-5.towo, 3.8-6.towo have been downloaded (with linux-image and linux-headers ... Debian Package Search find them)
uname -a says : Linux siductionbox 3.6-9.towo-siduction-686

Normal ?
How can I activate these new kernels ?
Thank you

N'est pas normale.
Preuve sélectionner dans le menu de GRUB le nouveau noyau.
Exécute puis kernel-remover, pour enlever les noyau précédentes.

Wecome to siduction.

To me it seems grub didn't update the list (if you really are sure the new kernels are installed)

Please have a look at:# cat /boot/grub/grub.cfg | grep /boot/vmlinux*

If the new kernels do not show up in this list please execute:

# update-grub
which may or may not help. Should be invoked *automatically* at the end of each kernel update.

I noticed that the kernel headers were updating on my eeePC, but not the kernels (the last kernel that updated correctly was the 3.7.1 kernel).  I manually installed the kernel (3.8.3), then, I noticed that when a new kernel came in (3.8.5), it updated correctly.

Since no one else complained about this happening to them, I thought it was just a problem on my one install (kernels were updating correctly on my other installs).  I wonder if this is somehow related.

3.8-6 should be the latest kernel

System:    Host: x1 Kernel: 3.8-6.towo-siduction-amd64 x86_64 (64 bit)

Fine.

"update-grub" should be invoked *automatically* after each kernel install. Therefore, next time a kernel gets installed during d-u you should observe whether or not it's invoked (you may see scolling by a list of kernel entries in the terminal). If not, then something is wrong with your system.

La commande doit être exécutée automatiquement à chaque mise à jour de la distribution actualiser le noyau.
Accorde une attention avant la prochaine révision du noyau et si vous constatez qui n'est pas exécuté, qu'manuellement avant de redémarrer.
