During d-u siduction-settings-xfce was updated to v2013.06.31.1 . After d-u executing "init 5" started the xfce DE *without* login (normaly kdm asks me for p/w and I could select a different DE if I wanted).
Changing the default DE is annoying.
But opening the DE without login is strange.
???
Don't understand.
Do you have kdm and xfce ?
How have you installed kdm (via apt-get or as a depend )?
Also how has been changed default session ?
You mean from flux to xfce ?
Thank you.

Yes. I did install it because I don't like gdm, lightdm (although they are still installed, too. But kdm is configured as default. It works this way since ... long ago.

Via apt-get
Thanks.
Thank you for reporting that.
I will add a script to ask user if he wants to change default Session.
Why kdm has autologin I don't know.
See if /etc/default/kdm.d/autologin file exists.
If so please try to find what package has installed it.
Normaly autologin should not be enabled in installed mode.
Thank you
Thanks for this fix regarding change default Session.
But as to autologin, it only happend when switching from RL3 to RL5 after d-u. There was and is no /etc/default/kdm.d/autologin file.
To me it *seemed* that changing the default DE from Fluxbox to xfce during d-u circumvented the first following login.

Not an answer to your problem but the latest lightdm is much much better than previous versions and without all the KDE dependencies of KDM.
