Title: HP LaserJet CP1025nw color printer not printing any more
Post by: orca on 2013/08/21, 04:03:59
Hi

I have an HP LaserJet CP1025nw color printer attached, via USB, to my desktop running an uptodate siduction (w/ dist-upgrade done today). It worked seamlessly ever since my first hard-disk installation of siduction, some weeks ago. Today, possibly after the d-u, it stopped printing any job at all.

If I check what is said in CUPS, I find out that the State is stopped and "Filter failed". If I try to print a test page from CUPS Maintenance menu, for instance, there arises a window entitled Driver Plug-in Require. I click the Next button, then there appears a new window demanding root password, which I provide, but the following new error window shows the msg:
Failed to install Plug-in.
Either you have chosen to skip the Plug-in installation  or entered incorrect Password.

I have all the hplip packages from the repos completely uptodate (version 3.13.8-1, which matches the current one in hp openprinting site as well)! The problem is it used to work and now no longer does :-( Any tips?
