Title: shotwell, how to access imported images
Post by: michaa7 on 2013/10/02, 16:34:03
This is true, I have imported images from my camara using shotwell, now I have to ask how I can access them. They landed somewhere called "Letzter Import" (last import) which is only visible within shotwell. I can do one million things via the context menue, except opening, moving or copying the files.

Any help on how I can do what I wanted to do with those files is very appreciated.

(When will developpers learn that those castrated file browsers like the ones in digikam or shotwell have one thing in common: They all are a PITA for users)

Not too sure what you mean, you set the download folder under edit-preferences. I usually create a folder in my home directory, Shotwell stores all your photos there.

I use the Pictures folder in my home folder for holding all my pictures and I myself been using Shotwell more and more as Digikam is becoming a really buggy mess with each release

Still have trouble with using my Kodak Easyshare with Digikam as it errors out trying to access it over PTP, so the fix was using a USB card reader for reading the card instead
