Hi all,
I want to install googleearth on the firestarter 64 bit.
As expected the inst runs not successful leading me to some questions, as the manual does not say anything and the wiki might be outdated.
1) On inst I get:
Entpacken von googleearth (aus googleearth_6.0.3.2197+1.0-1_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: Abhängigkeitsprobleme verhindern Konfiguration von googleearth:
googleearth hängt ab von libfreeimage3; aber:
Paket libfreeimage3 ist nicht installiert.
googleearth hängt ab von lsb-core; aber:
Paket lsb-core ist nicht installiert.
googleearth hängt ab von ia32-libs-gtk | libgtk2.0-0:i386 | ia32-libs; aber:
Paket ia32-libs-gtk ist nicht installiert.
Paket ia32-libs ist nicht installiert.
Installation of libfreeimage3:
2) ins libfreeimage3 provides:
Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut.
Statusinformationen werden eingelesen.... Fertig
Before I try my own, I like to benefit from some actual experiences.
The wiki provides:
Abhilfe:
su
apt-get install ap_i lsb-core lsb-release at ed m4 mailutils ncurses-term pax alien time exim4 rpm rpm2cpio exim4-base exim4-daemon-light guile-1.8-libs libmailutils2 libntlm0 rpm-common librpmbuild1 libgsasl7 exim4-config librpm1
Is this still valid / good today?
Wenn das Programm-Fenster beim starten dann nur kurz aufgeht und wieder abstürzt (und über die Konsole aufgerufen folgende Fehlermeldung bringt) : /usr/lib/googleearth/googleearth-bin: relocation error: /usr/lib/i686/cmov/libssl.so.0.9.8: symbol BIO_test_flags, version OPENSSL_0.9.8 not defined in file libcrypto.so.0.9.8 with link time reference
...hilft folgendes:
su
cd /usr/lib/googleearth/
mv libcrypto.so.0.9.8 libcrypto.so.0.9.8_DEF
mv libssl.so.0.9.8 libssl.so.0.9.8_DEF
exit
This is not applicable as the files do not exist.
Is multiarch still something to be installed/enabled?
What else do I have to obey?
In case of multiarch still required: Where can I find a up-to-date how-to?
Thanks for help!
EDIT2: Forget what I wrote. Application chrashes repeatetly now when trying to click a POI mark. " ...chrashed when handling a chrash". Nothing in chrash log. Think I'm cleaning up my system... /edit
Hi mylo,
I installed google-earth a minute ago because of couriosity. The 64-bit-package from this side
http://www.google.de/earth/download/ge/agree.html
is working on my system (see below), but it carries in a lot of dependencies, including some I thought not recommendet anymore since multiarch is working, e.g. ia32-libs ia32-libs-i386:i386.
So if you think you can live with that:
Get the package.
Cd into your Download folder.
dpkg -i google-earth-stable_current_amd64.deb
notice your error message
apt-get -f install
the following additional packages will be installed:

EDIT: It just runs once, even after reboot, started from k-menue, but it's running again when starting from cli!
Hi ayla,
thanks for for your advice. Okay, i let it as it is or purge it. May be via wine is a idea working? Someone has experience in this?
