I was wondering why my system is so unresponsive after startup. I discoverd that "find" ( user nobody ) is runing continiously after startup, consuming about 10% of cpu usage. this is combinded with the HD beeing accessed continiously (indicated by the HD diode).
Killing finde made the system much more responsive.
Questions:
Do you have runing find (by user nobody together with "sort" run by root)?
How would I push "find" more in the background at *each* startup ( I assume, but am not sure, it's ok to have find run for indexing purposes. Correct me if I am wrong)?
find on my install runs periodically, not constant because of a cron job or part of the indexing service.
I am not on my linux box nor am I home to give exacts...sorry.
I have documents only checked for indexing and databse. My system emails shows the exact service causeing find to run. Also in sysguard task manager thingy, look at the full command for find.
