Hello,
the last week the "KDE Software Collection" was updated to it's latest version 4.12.2; as you could see it went directly to unstable. The reason was that they were no significant changes in the packaging and also when the packages were ready the new version was already officially released. In other words, I don't expect problems with these new packages; however if you find anything wrong, you may post your issues in this thread, as you usually do.
The experimental kdepim packages of kdenext/kdepim-ng were updated to their 4.12.1 version and probably they will be updated to 4.12.2.
Cheers.
Thanks for the update Santa. KDE 4.12.2 is running fine here. I even turned the login sounds back on. I missed them since they made them default to off.
Same as GoinEasy9 -- 4.12.2 looking good and working well here. Thanks for your work on it, Santa.
4.12.2 works like charm here also ;D Thanks for your good work santa !
thanks Santa:

okay, found the mistake
kdm ist still on 4.11, but my kde is actually 4.12 - sorry, my mistake:

Hello Lanzi and everybody, just to clarify the status of things:
some time ago someone saw this announcement:
http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.11/ (http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.11/)
and asked various things about it, this was more or less the content of my repy:

There won't be more releases of plasma kde-workspace/plasma introducing new features, the new releases of plasma will just focus on fixing bugs. For the other software which is not plasma but is part of the "KDE Software Compilation" (dolphin, konqueror, konsole, kate, kmail, etc.) the new releases may have new features, and yes, there will be a 4.12 release, there's even a release schedule:http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules (http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules)Last but not least, whatever is released, I have the intention to package it.
In other words, having a kdm version 4.11.x is expected and fine for the rest of the live of KDE SC 4. It's also fine to have a 4.11.x of any package provided by kde-workspace, see the list below.
# apt-cache showsrc kde-workspace
Package: kde-workspace
Binary: kde-workspace, kdebase-workspace, plasma-desktop, plasma-netbook, kde-workspace-bin, kdebase-workspace-bin, kde-workspace-data, kde-workspace-dev, kdebase-workspace-dev, plasma-dataengines-workspace, plasma-widgets-workspace, plasma-scriptengines, plasma-scriptengine-ruby, plasma-scriptengine-python, plasma-scriptengine-webkit, freespacenotifier, kdm, kinfocenter, klipper, ksysguardd, ksysguard, kde-window-manager, libkdecorations4abi2, libkwineffects1abi5, systemsettings, kde-workspace-kgreet-plugins, kde-style-oxygen, kmenuedit, libkephal4abi1, libkscreensaver5, libksgrd4, libksignalplotter4, libkworkspace4abi2, liblsofui4, libplasmaclock4abi4, libplasma-geolocation-interface4, libkwinglutils1abi2, libplasmagenericshell4, libprocesscore4abi1, libprocessui4a, libtaskmanager4abi4, libweather-ion6, kde-workspace-dbg, kdebase-workspace-dbg, ktouchpadenabler
[...]
P.S. The new kdepim in kdepim-ng was updated to 4.11.2.
Thanks for your answer.
KDM 4.11 works perfectly, so there ist no need to do anything. I was only confused, because I thought, that my entire kde was 4.11 :)
